Following years of a devastating war, the Syrian people are striving to hold on to life while struggling with immense hardships. Through our 2026 Qurbani organization, we deliver your trusts to our brothers and sisters who persevere, sharing the abundance and hope of the Eid with them.
The crisis that began in 2011 has transformed into one of the largest humanitarian disasters in modern history. The widespread collapse of infrastructure, economic crisis, and continuous displacement have made millions of families dependent on external aid.
The pre-war population of over 22 million has undergone a massive change due to the conflict. Today, millions of Syrians have taken refuge in neighboring countries, while more than 6.8 million people are internally displaced (IDPs) within their own country. The majority of the population consists of Muslims.
According to UN data, approximately 15.3 million people in Syria are in need of humanitarian assistance. While rehabilitation efforts have begun in many areas following the de-escalation of the war, millions of people across the country still rely on external support.
Islamic Relief has been conducting large-scale relief operations for refugees both inside Syria and in neighboring countries since the beginning of the crisis. In addition to mobile health clinics, winter clothing and fuel aid, distribution of emergency food parcels, and orphan sponsorships, we strengthen our bonds of brotherhood by delivering meat and essential food to hundreds of thousands of war victims every year during Qurbani and Ramadan.
