Our Activities - Islamic Relief Türkiye

Our Activities

Islamic Relief carries out emergency relief operations for communities affected by war, natural disasters, and humanitarian crises.

1. Gaza emergency aid

We provide comprehensive support in Gaza across the fields of food, clean water, safe shelter, health, and hygiene, where humanitarian needs remain chronic due to years of conflict and blockade.

Our interventions include distributing hot meals and food parcels, supplying drinking water, providing hygiene kits, and delivering emergency shelter solutions.

Teams conduct recovery and repair work to increase community resilience against crises, focusing on supporting damaged living spaces, strengthening water infrastructure, and restoring basic services.

  • Maternal and child health support: We prioritize maternal health, delivery support, and the supply of basic medical equipment as conflict severely damages healthcare systems and puts pregnant women and newborns at great risk.
  • Psychosocial support and child protection: Specialists implement psychosocial support programs for children affected by trauma and establish safe spaces to support their physical and mental well-being.
  • Seasonal support: We distribute food and Qurbani meat during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha and provide winter aid during the cold months to complement year-round humanitarian work.
2. Emergency aid work in other countries

Islamic Relief conducts emergency relief activities in response to natural disasters and humanitarian crises across various regions beyond Gaza.

In Pakistan, we provide food, hygiene, and shelter support following flood disasters, while in Afghanistan, teams carry out emergency shelter, health, and winter aid work after catastrophes such as earthquakes.

We deliver food, clean water, and cash support to families affected by conflict and epidemics in Yemen and Sudan and provide essential supplies and temporary shelter solutions in the Philippines following disasters like typhoons.

Cash assistance serves as a support model that centers on human dignity by allowing those in need to spend according to their own priorities.

1. Supporting families from Gaza

We provide regular cash support to Gazan families evacuated to Türkiye to help them cover basic expenses and maintain a stable life while facing economic challenges in areas such as housing, health, and education.

2. Cash and complementary support for people with disabilities

We adopt a holistic approach by providing cash assistance alongside logistical, medical, and social support for people with disabilities, considering their rising living and healthcare costs.

3. Support for voluntary return processes of refugees

Teams meticulously manage support processes for families under temporary protection who wish to return to their countries, ensuring a safe, dignified, and planned return for women-headed households, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

1. Entrepreneurship and small business support

We implement entrepreneurship training and grant programs in earthquake-affected regions of Türkiye to help individuals start their own businesses or revive existing ones as livelihoods remain a core element of long-term recovery.

2. Agriculture and livestock support

We ensure the restart of production for rural families through seed, seedling, fertilizer, and equipment support while providing feed, vaccines, and necessary tools to those engaged in animal husbandry.

3. Vocational training for people with disabilities

Specialists organize vocational training programs to increase the economic participation of people with disabilities and provide equipment support to help participants transform their skills into income-generating activities.

1. Access to healthcare services

We facilitate access to basic health services and early intervention opportunities for individuals facing difficulties in examination, diagnosis, and treatment processes through cooperation with health institutions.

2. Mental health and psychosocial support

Expert psychologists and psychiatrists provide regular psychosocial support, therapy sessions, and medication to beneficiaries experiencing trauma from war, migration, or disasters.

3. Physical therapy and rehabilitation

We provide physical therapy and rehabilitation support alongside orthopedic corrective surgery for beneficiaries with congenital or acquired bone and joint disorders to increase their mobility and independence in daily life.

4. Orthotics, prosthetics, and medical device support

We provide hearing aids, wheelchairs, orthotics, and prosthetics to help people with disabilities simplify their daily lives and participate more strongly in society.

1. Support for educational infrastructure after disasters

Islamic Relief Türkiye continues work to rebuild and improve educational infrastructure in Kahramanmaraş following the 6 February earthquakes.

We are rebuilding Bulanik Primary School in the Dulkadiroglu district to meet the regional educational needs and provide children with a safe learning environment.

Teams continue reconstruction and capacity-building work at Kayabasi Primary School and prepare a kindergarten project to increase access to early childhood education for younger groups.

2. Scholarship support

We provide scholarship support to students who struggle to continue their education due to financial difficulties, helping young people pursue their academic goals.

1. Orphan sponsorship program

The orphan sponsorship program serves as a long-term support model that meets children's basic needs such as education, food, health, and shelter while monitoring their development closely.

A total of 3,000 orphans, including Turkish, East Turkestani, and Syrian children, benefit from our sponsorship program in Türkiye.

2. Social and cultural programs

We organize social events, educational support programs, and cultural activities for orphaned children to increase their self-confidence and strengthen their social skills.

3. Umrah program

Orphaned children and their mothers participate in an Umrah journey to Mecca and Medina where they join volunteers for spiritual visits, museum tours, and group activities.

1. Ramadan aid

Islamic Relief Türkiye conducts comprehensive aid programs including food parcels, iftar support, and fitra and fidya distributions to meet the basic nutritional needs of vulnerable families during Ramadan.

We provide iftar programs, Eid clothing, cash support, and social events for orphaned children and disadvantaged families so they can experience the joy of the holiday with dignity.

2. Qurbani aid

Teams slaughter entrusted Qurbani animals according to Islamic principles and distribute the meat to communities struggling with poverty and crisis during Eid al-Adha.

3. Winter aid

We provide blankets, winter clothing, heaters, fuel support, and cash assistance to households most affected by cold weather conditions in disaster and crisis regions.

4. Educational support

Islamic Relief Türkiye conducts school support programs by distributing stationery, school kits, and educational materials to children and young people who face financial difficulties.

1. Local volunteer activities

We strengthen our humanitarian aid work with the contributions of volunteers across Türkiye through social meetings, moral activities, and cultural trips that support the development of orphaned children.

2. International volunteer program: Inspire

Inspire serves as a youth development program that instills a spirit of volunteering and global brotherhood by informing young people about the ethical principles of humanitarian aid.

Volunteers from Türkiye and Canada come together through Inspire to carry out social and development-oriented activities specifically designed for orphaned children.
