"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills." Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 261

Bridges of Brotherhood in Africa

Located in the heart of Africa, nations like Mali and Kenya have been struggling with long-standing challenges for years. As part of our 2026 Qurbani campaign, we reach the most fragile regions in these countries to deliver your trusts to our brothers and sisters in need, carrying the joy of Eid to the middle of the desert.

Essential Facts About Africa

Why do we provide aid to Mali and Kenya? +

Mali and Kenya are among the regions facing significant hardship. Years of internal conflict, political instability, and severe climate crises hitting the Sahel region—particularly drought—have made access to basic food and clean water nearly impossible for many. A large portion of the population struggles to survive below the hunger threshold and is in urgent need of humanitarian aid.

What is the scale of the humanitarian crisis in Africa? +

Millions of people across Africa face severe food insecurity. Due to ongoing conflicts, hundreds of thousands have been forced to leave their homes and are internally displaced. Limited access to education, healthcare, and infrastructure leads to an increase in epidemic diseases and health issues related to malnutrition.

What is Islamic Relief doing in Africa? +

Islamic Relief has been actively conducting humanitarian aid operations in Africa for many years. We do not only provide food aid during Qurbani and Ramadan; we also open permanent clean water wells, support educational projects, run orphan sponsorship programs, and build sustainable agricultural projects focused on the development of women.
